GUIDELINES FOR LABELING SAMPLE AND TUBES
Sample Names
Certain software programs and instruments in use by the CAT have limitations on character types and spaces within the sample field. Sample names cannot be longer than 6 characters and may not contain spaces. Only alpha-numeric characters can be used (0-9, A-Z, a-z)
Labeling Sample Tubes
Samples should be submitted in 1.5ml RNase-free, DNase-free microfuge tubes. Label tubes on the top with the sample name and the designation 'QC', 'array', or 'SNP'. If you use sample labels, like tough spots, please use cryo-withstanding labels.
The sample name on the tube label must match EXACTLY the sample name
on the submission form.
On the side of the tube please provide the sample name, concentration, principle investigators last name or CAT project ID if you have been issued one, and preparation date.
